So you're looking at upgrading an existing chartplotter? These days, technology has progressed in leaps and bounds to the point that they are now referred to as multifunction displays (MFD). These devices will accept and display many inputs and are very versatile compared to their older brethren. We generally ask customers what sort of system they currently have on their vessel as we like to use the KISS philosophy.
